Miss Afghanistan 2009 - Zallascht Sadat
25 Oct 09 -- On October 25, 2008 a jury in Hamburg, Germany named Zallascht Sadat Miss Afghanistan 2008-2009. The pageant was held by Afghan Models. The contest was participated by women with Afghan heritage. Madina Taher who represented Germany in the Miss Universe 2008 pageant was one of the jurors.
Vida Samadzai was the first Afghan woman to participate in an international beauty pageant since 1974. However, Sadat is the first officially elected Miss Afghanistan since Zohra Yousuf Daoud was elected in 1972.
Zallascht was born in Kabul, Afghanistan on January 29, 1982 and moved with her family to Germany at the age of 3. She currently studies Business. She hopes to participate in Miss Earth, Miss Universe, and Miss World for the year 2009.(WE)
